Below ground / bridge drainage

Ensign, below-ground drainage system has added a new dimension to cast-iron drainage as a competitive material. The modern design and considerable weight reduction of pipes and fittings, means the price difference between cast-iron and other materials has never been closer. Ensign consists of pipe and fittings in 100 to 600mm diameters, with an additional zinc coating applied to the pipes (see appearance) and has mechanical and push-fit jointing options. The ductile iron two-piece mechanical coupling comes in sizes 100 to 300mm diameter with the option of push-fit couplings in 100 and 150mm diameter which simplifies installation, ideal for fast pipe laying as the couplings dramatically reduce the time taken to complete connections. Ensign retains the traditional qualities of cast-iron, strength, rigidity, and guaranteed long life and is the only cast iron system Kitemarked to BS EN 877 for below ground applications and also BBA approved Certificate 95/3125

Appearance
Ensign pipes for below ground or bridge application: internally epoxy-lined, externally coated with zinc-rich base coat, followed by Grey protective coating; fittings/couplings/brackets coated in Grey epoxy.
